Review: i-Torch Kraken 800 Lumen LED Dive Light

The i-Torch Kraken 800 Lumen LED dive light is the perfect solution for your underwater diving needs. It features a depth rating of 328 feet, and its CREE XM-L U2 LED emits a 200-, 400- or 800-lumen light depending on the settings chosen, all in a narrow beam of 15-degrees.

The best feature of this torch is that it offers a daylight-balanced color temperature, making it wonderful for photographers and videographers. It also has two different modes outside of the brightness levels: strobe mode and SOS. At a maximum brightness, the i-Torch Kraken 800 can run for about 1.5 hours while powered by its rechargeable Li-ion battery. The device is made for durability – the construction material is rugged anodized aluminum, making the torch corrosion-resistant, and it is sealed with double O-rings. There is a push button to switch between modes as well as a battery life indicator.

He started working toward earning his open water diving certification as a freshman in high school, and by the time he graduated college he was a certified master scuba diver and PADI instructor. Dave loves to try new things, and is just as happy dipping into a deep lake as he is deep sea diving to explore underwater wrecks and caves. He documents everything with his camera, making him our resident expert in videography and photography lighting.
